You must complete a consumer credit counseling class and we will need a copy of your certificate before your bankruptcy can be filed. We can tell you more about this bankruptcy requirement at the initial consultation. Here is a link to the US Trustee's complete list of approved agencies.

THE SECOND CLASS: AFTER YOUR CASE HAS BEEN FILED:
PERSONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION
You must also complete a personal financial management class and file your certificate from this second class before the court will grant you a discharge of debt. You have 45 days from the Creditors Meeting to complete this class and get the certificate filed with the Court. You will not receive a discharge of any debt if this second certificate is not filed.
